SPRING 2019
HOMESCHOOL IOWA 5
F
or many people, myself included, this time of year
represents the home stretch of our school year. I
realize that many people have a different schedule
where they might homeschool year-round, but our fam-
ily has usually taken a summer break – which means
that spring is the time of year where we make the final
push. As you think of winding down one school year, the
next inevitable thought is of the next school year. Maybe
you are excited for that, maybe you slightly groan at the
thought, or you are somewhere in the middle! Wherever
you might land on that spectrum, let me encourage you
to register for the 2019 Homeschool Iowa Conference as a
source of refreshment, motivation, and inspiration!
We are so excited for the keynote speakers we have
lined up for this year, including Israel Wayne and Steve &
Megan Scheibner. These speakers bring not only a wealth
of knowledge about homeschooling but also a deep well
of wisdom and insight regarding God’s word, marriage,
and parenting – all the things that matter the most as we
strive to raise our children. We also have wonderful work-
shop speakers who will cover topics from homeschooiing
preschool to high school, homeschooling children with
special needs, how to manage your home, homeschool-
ing on a budget, cultivating a love of reading in your chil-
dren, and so much more!
This year, we again have our popular Moms & Muffins
and Dads & Donuts sessions available on Saturday morn-
ing. Sign up soon, before these sessions fill up! New this
year is our Couples’ Dinner on Thursday evening during
which you and your spouse can enjoy a delicious catered
dinner along with an inspiring message from one of our
keynote speakers, Israel Wayne, and his wife Brook. They
will be sharing about balancing marriage and parenting.
Another new and exciting option we have this year is
our Make & Take Workshops! In these workshops you get
to learn about a certain topic and then create something
to take home with you. These workshops have limited
spaces, so be sure to sign up soon if you are interested!
The main conference starts on Friday, June 7, but we
also have some unique opportunities for you on Thursday,
including our two mini conferences, Homeschooling 101
and Homeschooling Special Needs. These mini confer-
ences offer an afternoon focused on exploring these two
crucial subjects. Also available on Thursday are our Used
Curriculum Sale and Small Business Expo. Register online
if you are interested in shopping or signing up to sell your
curriculum or market your small business!
This year we are excited to offer the opportunity for our
attendees to invite friends and family to come to our free
Friday night keynote address. Stephen Scheibner will be
sharing about his moving 9/11 testimony as well as “The
Nine Practices of the Proactive Parent.”

Our vendor hall will give you many opportunities to ask questions, look
through curriculum, and help you make decisions for what will work best for
your children.
We are excited to be back in central Iowa this year and wanted to let you
know that we have lodging options available at special rates until mid-May.
Check our website for details (

The Homeschool Iowa Conference offers a wonderful opportunity to learn
and grow as a homeschooling parent and also to connect and learn from other
homeschoolers as well. Many of our regional representatives will be available at
the conference to answer questions specific to your area of the state as well as
to simply encourage and uplift you in your homeschooling journey.
We are so excited for this year’s conference, and we warmly welcome you to
check out all the details and register on the conference page of Homeschool
Iowa’s website. We hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to sink
your roots in deep to the inspiring sources of encouragement and motivation
for your homeschool adventures at the 2019 Homeschool Iowa Conference!
