Please note that a portion of the NICHE conference registration fees helps to fund NICHE operations year-round —
including staffing and services that make it possible for us to provide our website, our inquiry answering service,
our support group and supervising teacher referral service, our magazine, our lobbying and legislative watchdog protections,
our educational and promotional efforts, and much more.
NICHE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all of the conference planning and production is done by volunteers.

Our goal is to equip parents for the God-ordained work of discipling their children to impact our world for Christ!
Because we are homeschooling parents ourselves, we realize that curriculum alone cannot fully sustain that effort.
With this in mind, NICHE does not issue Exhibit Hall Only Passes.
The NICHE Conference Exhibit Hall is accessible to conference attendees only --
which means your children must also be registered to access the Conference and/or the Exhibit Hall.
No exceptions are made to this policy.
We truly understand your desire to access the Exhibit Hall
and we encourage you to come prepared to experience the whole conference
to catch the vision, gather tools & information, and experience the full benefits!

Conference Opportunities for Children

The NICHE Conference is designed as an event for adults --
with some offerings also appropriate for older children's interest level and attention spans.

TEEN & ADULT DEPENDENT CHILDREN AGES 12 & UP

We offer a free built-in teen track program in a secure location with creation science workshops by Jay Seegert.
These presentations are appropriate to include as student coursework in your homeschool outline of study.
Attending children must be responsible to an on-site parent at all times.
(NICHE does not provide supervision of teens and children attending the teen track program.)

In addition, we are offering a specialized teen course in CAD instruction for older teens, age 16-18.
(Parents can email to request special permission for their advanced students of a younger age to participate.)
The registration fee of $50 covers the complete two-day course,
running concurrently with the Friday and Saturday conference schedule.

YOUNGER CHILDREN

We do realize that some parents have no other option
than to bring their younger children with them while they attend the conference.
We offer a top-rate children's program appropriate for children ages 5-12 [see details below].
Because the children's program cannot accommodate more than about 120 children,
we do allow parents to bring children under 12 with them to the conference,
but we remind parents that the conference is not at all designed for the attention span of a child under 12.
We regret that we are unable to provide childcare, so all children under 12 attending the conference,
but not in the children's program, must be accompanied by a parent at all times.
If a child becomes noisy or unruly in the workshop or keynote rooms or in the exhibit hall,
a parent must remove him/her to the lobby area.
Please remember that we are recording all workshop and keynote sessions.

We hope to have a private room for nursing mothers -- ask at the NICHE booth when you arrive.

Free Admission for Your Pastor

NICHE is offering FREE conference admission to a full-time or primary bivocational pastor/elder of the church

The pastor/elder:
- must not be currently homeschooling
- must not have been a NICHE conference registrant attendee in the past three years
- may bring his wife at no additional cost

Free Admission for Non-Homeschooling Grandparents

Registered attendees' non-homeschooling parents [the attendees' children's grandparents]
may attend the 2013 NICHE Conference free of charge along with the registered attendees.
Non-homeschooling grandparents must be added administratively to completed conference registrations.
To add non-homeschooling grandparent admission(s) to your completed conference registration,
send an email to conference@homeschooliowa.org
requesting the free admission(s) for your children's non-homeschooling grandparent(s).
Please include: your name and the name(s) of the grandparents --
along with a statement certifying that the person(s) for whom you are requesting free admission are
the grandparent(s) of your children and that they are not currently homeschooling any children.
